Making Music Work For Me

I found this blog topic here. The deal is it's a survey to create the soundtrack of your life by filling in songs for each category. Pretty tall order, right? I mean the average person could go crazy trying to find the perfect song for each category by culling from the whole of their life experience. So, to accomplish this feat, I gave myself two rules: (1) I had to do it within one hour, and (2) I could only use songs I actually have in my music collection. I hope you'll fill out the survey on your blog (and link to it in the comments) or just fill it out in the comments. And do it anonymously if it means you'll do it.

Opening Credit: An Actor's Life, Dave Grusin

Waking Up: Keep on Movin', 5ive

Average Day: You Get What You Give, New Radicals

First Date: Lovin Each Day, Ronin Keating

Falling in Love: You Move Me, Garth Brooks

Love Scene: Love to Be Loved, Peter Gabriel

Fight Scene: Numb, Linkin Park

Breaking Up: You Could Be Happy, Snow Patrol

Getting Back Together: Stay Forever, Hal Ketchum

Secret Love: Cherish, The Association

Life's Okay: Lovely Day, Bill Withers

Mental Breakdown: Have You Seen Me Lately (Live), Counting Crows

Driving: Babylon, David Gray

Learning a Lesson: Both Sides Now (Remastered), Joni Mitchell

Deep Thought: Stuck In A Moment (Acoustic), U2

Flashback: Come On, Come On, Mary Chapin-Carpenter

Partying: Brandy, Looking Glass (I firmly believe that regardless of singing talent, everyone should have a signature song for karaoke. This is mine.)

Happy Dance: This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody), Talking Heads (My really happy dance is just me moving my shoulders in time to this beat.)

Regretting: Breathe Me, Sia

Long Night Alone: High Life, Counting Crows

Death Scene: He's So Shy, Pointer Sisters (I decided a couple years ago I want this played at my funeral. I'm putting that direction in my will.)

Closing Credits: Mona Lisas & Mad Hatters, Elton John

Your turn.

One of my favorite fight scene songs is ordinary world by Duran Duran in Layer Cake. Who would have thought ordinary world would work for a fight scene?

So I totally just posted my soundtrack. i have been working on it (on and off) for a couple of days now. A lot of fun, but I must admit - a little stressful.
