This Just In . . . Aloha!

For the first time, in a very long time, Delta came through for me. I got a SkySaver award ticket to Maui. I leave April 20. Much thanks (er - maholo) to Ali for letting me join her trip.

You bastard. This snow today is going to be the death of me, I swear. I'm going to try and suffocate my jealousy and be happy for you.

Easy there Stila. Didn't you just get back from Maui two weeks ago? As b-lo pointed out, you visit Hawaii like it's California. p.s. I'm thrilled to be able to use the "Maui Babe" in April.

I know that was a bit harsh. But, seriously, I may have to go back on my meds after today. I'm trying to pretend that the sound of snowplows whooshing down the street is a warm breeze.
I am glad that you get to use the "Maui Babe" before June. I'll just shut my mouth while I think about you in the ubiquitous but lovely ABC stores.
Maybe I'll buy my Lagoon and Cherry Hill season pass today to make myself feel better.

In honor of your trip and in defiance of the snow, let's gather at my place for a luau. We'll turn the heat all the way up, shut the blinds, put on our swimming suits, and make blended rum drinks. What do you say?

As Steve Azar says:

So I called in to where I work; told a little white lie.
No my back don't really hurt, but that's my alibi,
My temporary ticket to anywhere but there.
Call it an early weekend; call it goin' off the deep end;
Call it what you want, I made up my mind:

I don't have to be me 'til Monday.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
I ain't gonna face reality.
Three days without punching a time clock;
Three nights of goin' non-stop;
No work and all play.
I don't have to be me 'til Monday.
Yeah.

I can do what I wanna do, be who I wanna be.
I got no one to answer to, soon as I turn the key.
A cash machine, gasoline and we're outta here.
Call it an early weekend; call it goin' off the deep end;
Baby, you and me, we can leave it all behind.

I don't have to be me 'til Monday.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
I ain't gonna face reality.
Three days without punching a time clock;
Three nights of goin' non-stop;
No work and all play.
I don't have to be me 'til Monday.

Does that mean we're on for the luau? I'll bring the pig. And my sarong.
