Tagged.

I accepted (dethroned)up's invitation to: "List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether or not they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your livejournal/blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to."

Part one is easy enough:

1. We Need A Little Christmas, Johnny Mathis
2. Someday at Christmas, Pearl Jam
3. Irreplaceable, Beyonce
4. California, Mates of State
5. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, Rosemary Clooney
6. Happy Holiday, Peggy Lee
7. Brighter Discontent, The Submarines

Admittedly, it's a pretty Holiday heavy list, but what the hell - once a year.

The hard part is Part Two - tagging seven people. I will tag people to post in the comments section:

1. Ava/Stella
2. Aunt
3. B-Lo
4. Georgeory
5. Ali
6. Deanna
7. Sister

Today's Song: Redundant.

Ava isn't home from school yet, but I guarantee you I know her list. It's the same songs she's been singing for the past 6 months--thanks a lot, Justin. Here is our combined list.

1. Taillights Fade, Buffalo Tom
2. Nothing from Nothing, Billy Preston
3. Santa Baby, Eartha Kitt (my all time favorite version)
4. Just What I Needed, The Cars
5. My Only Wish, Britney Spears
6. Ladies Night, Kool & The Gang
7. Born to Make You Happy, Britney Spears

Are you checking to see who still reads your blog? I'm guilty.

Here are a few of the songs straight from my iTunes top 25, but admittedly I haven't gotten any new music in months:

1. Have a Little Faith in Me, John Hiatt
2. Foolish Games (acoustic), Jewel and Melissa Ethridge, yes, I'm still totally into this song
3. Crush, (VH1 Storytellers)Dave Matthews
4. Irreplaceable, Beyonce
5. Wandering Moon, Pierce Pettis
6. Round Here, Counting Crows
7. truly embarrassing - Let Him Fly, Jessica Simpson

We have Irreplaceable in common. I happened to see Beyonce perform this on Ellen over labor day weekend when I just got back from the beach, so it is a good memory. JT also performed SexyBack and they were both excellent (or maybe I was just in a really good mood).

Thanks for playing y'all.

Stella - This is the first Christmas in awhile that I haven't played "My Only Wish" once a day. I think because Ava filled me up on it in the summer and fall. Check out Eartha Kitt's "I'm Getting Nuttin' for Christmas" - she pretty much says she's getting nuttin' because she wouldn't be a ho.

Slcup: Thanks for the topic.

Deanna: I am glad you are still with me. For the record (no pun intended) - I had "A Public Affair" on repeat for about a month.

Sister: "Down pretty ladies . . ." I prefer Meatloaf's "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" - so that's a little more embarrassing.

Aunt: I want to see you karaoke "Lost in Emotion". Seriously.

Georgeory: I understand "Jolene".
I don't know the others. So thanks for the new music.

A Public Affair on repeat? That's bad, really bad. I only know about that song because I caught her singing it on some MTV special and spent hours trying to interpret exactly how the song fit in with her breakup. Later on found out it is by the Dixie Chicks anyway, so she didn't even really write it.

I liked the 'newlyweds' days, but she's driving me nuts right now with those crazy bartender adds they repeatedly show during all football games. Go Bears!
